Infrastructure & Platform Engineering

A platform your product teams can ship on without waiting.

We build and run the infrastructure your applications sit on: networks, clusters, databases and the tooling around them. Everything is written as code, reviewed like code and documented, so your teams can self-serve instead of raising tickets.

The problem

Why infrastructure slows teams down.

01

Infrastructure built by hand

Environments were clicked together in a console, so nobody can rebuild them with confidence or explain why they differ.

02

Tickets for everything

Product teams wait days for a database, a queue or a new environment, and the platform team becomes the bottleneck.

03

Kubernetes without a plan

Clusters were set up quickly, upgrades are overdue and every team deploys in a slightly different way.

04

Knowledge in one person's head

One engineer understands the network and the clusters. When they are away, changes stop.

What we deliver

Infrastructure as a product for your teams.

We treat your platform as something product teams use every day, with clear defaults, documentation and owners.

01

Infrastructure as code

Networks, compute, databases and access defined in code with reviews, plans and state managed safely.

  • Terraform
  • OpenTofu
  • Pulumi
02

Kubernetes platforms

Cluster design, upgrades, autoscaling, ingress and secrets, run to a regular maintenance schedule.

  • EKS
  • AKS
  • GKE
03

Golden paths and templates

Service templates that come with build, deploy, logging and alerts already wired in, so a new service starts right.

  • Templates
  • Backstage
  • Self-service
04

Networking and access

VPC design, private connectivity, DNS and identity, set up so teams get what they need without broad permissions.

  • VPC
  • DNS
  • IAM
05

Environments on demand

Repeatable development, staging and preview environments that teams can create and remove themselves.

  • Environments
  • Previews
  • Ephemeral
06

Platform operations

Upgrades, capacity planning, certificate renewal and patching handled as routine work with clear ownership.

  • Upgrades
  • Capacity
  • Patching

How we deliver

From inventory to a platform teams rely on.

We bring what exists under control first, then make it easier to use.

Always included

  • A named service manager and a clear escalation matrix
  • A monthly service review with SLA reporting
  • Runbooks and documentation that you own
  • Access through your SSO with audit trails, and an NDA and DPA as standard

Typical tools

  • Terraform
  • Kubernetes
  • Helm
  • AWS
  • Azure
  • GCP
  • Backstage
  • Vault
01
Weeks 1 to 2

Assess

We map what you run and how it is built today.

  • Inventory of accounts, clusters, networks and databases
  • Review of existing code, pipelines and manual steps
  • Pain points gathered from product teams
02
Weeks 2 to 6

Transition

We take over platform operations and bring key parts into code.

  • Critical infrastructure imported into code
  • Runbooks for upgrades, scaling and recovery
  • Escalation matrix and change process agreed
03
Months 2 to 3

Stabilise

Overdue upgrades, single points of failure and drift are fixed.

  • Cluster and dependency upgrades completed
  • Drift between environments removed
  • Backups and recovery tested, not just configured
04
Ongoing

Optimise

We make the platform easier to use and cheaper to run.

  • Golden paths for the most common services
  • Self-service for routine requests
  • Monthly review of platform health and requests

FAQ

Questions we hear a lot.

Do we have to rebuild everything in code first?
No. We import the most critical parts first and bring the rest across over time, so day-to-day operations keep running while the platform improves.
Do you only work with Kubernetes?
No. We run Kubernetes where it fits, but many workloads are better on managed services or serverless. We recommend what suits your team's size and skills, not what is fashionable.
Who owns the code and the platform?
You do. All infrastructure code lives in your repositories and runs in your cloud accounts. If you ever change provider, everything stays with you.
Fully managed, co-managed or on-demand pods: which fits platform work?
Fully managed suits teams that want us to own the platform against agreed SLAs. Co-managed suits teams with their own platform engineers who need more capacity or out-of-hours cover. On-demand pods suit a defined project, such as a cluster upgrade, a landing zone or moving infrastructure into code.
How do you avoid breaking things during changes?
Every change goes through code review and a plan you can see before it is applied. Risky changes go to staging first, are scheduled in agreed windows and come with a tested way back.
